A Heavenly Peace
Christmas Day Worship
On Christmas day our worship will begin at 10:30am. This will be a special celebration and every child present will be receiving a special gift. Our way of saying thank you for not missing the Birthday of the Savior. May God bless you with a wonderful Christmas.
Christmas Choir and Children
We are looking forward to some special Christmas music lead by the Praise Team, children’s songs, Nativity scene, and the Christmas story in Scripture; all to celebrate Jesus’ birth. Plan on staying after to enjoy a covered dish luncheon in the Fellowship Hall. Bring a heart ready to celebrate and your favorite recipe to share.
Hand Bell Christmas Choir
To make the Christmas season a little brighter for all of us; we are excited to bring back the Hand Bells! Ordinarily we have a beautiful singing choir to announce the Savior’s miraculous birth, but this year we are ringing the bells to celebrate. Come and worship with us in person when you are ready! You can also click on the Facebook icon at the bottom of our Home page and worship with us online. Advent season is always exciting, Don’t Miss It!! … and Merry Christmas.
Operation Christmas Child
Every year our church family joins thousands of other churches to support this wonderful outreach led by Samaritans Purse. We each get the opportunity to pack at least one shoe box with toys, games, health items, and most importantly Love. Bring these little boxes of goodies to the church by Sunday morning, November 14, at the very latest; and stay for the children’s parade. Each one of these shoe boxes will be delivered to a child somewhere around the world, where they will here a clear presentation of the Gospel in their own language. Call church office for more information please! We also have a Mission trip planned to Main Distribution center on Thursday evening, December 2, to help get thousands of these boxes ready for delivery. Sure hope you can help! Let us Know.
Gifts Worthy of the King
This is a sermon based on Scripture found in Matthew 2:1-12, in which the Wise men offered Jesus the perfect gifts. They had hearts that sought the new born King. They listened and obeyed the voice of God so they could stay in step with His perfect will. And finally, they beautifully worshiped the Savior with all their hearts, mind, soul, and strength. How about me and you; what gift will you lay at Jesus’ feet this year?
Joy Has Come
This is a brief message following our Christmas Cantata entitled, ‘Joy Has Come’. This sermon is based on Scriptures found in Luke 2:8-12 and focuses on the lowly shepherds. Here we will discover that the Savior has come for all people and desperately wants all of us to come to Him. As we surrender to Christ we will discover a Joy that the world can’t give or take away. During this Christmas season let us be as excited as these shepherds were on the very first Christmas morning!
Christmas Cantata
Every Christmas our Choir and musicians perform a beautiful musical; this year it was entitled ‘Celebrate His Name! Proclaim His Birth!’ We were blessed to hear the Christmas story through music and to examine some of the powerful names of God mentioned in Scripture. Thank you Choir for leading us in a great time of worship and celebration.
Christmas Cantata
The Sanctuary Choir and Musicians of First Baptist Lithonia will be leading in worship as they present their annual Christmas musical entitled, ‘Light Looked Down and the Word became flesh”. This beautiful story in music will remind us who Jesus is; the Peace he brings;and His Love that can change our hearts! Come and join us for a great time of worship and plan on staying for lunch in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
