Reasons to Rejoice
Sometimes we can allow difficulties to steal our joy and instead of giving thanks we give only a sour look. This sermon is based on Psalm 96 and reminds us that the source of every joy comes from God, He truly is the fountain of every blessing. Be reminded of His splendor and holiness, be reminded of His love and grace, be reminded that he has a plan and purpose for everything, and that He loves you just the way you are. One day He will return; are you ready?
The Power of Praise
A message in a sermon series entitled ‘The Mission Goes On’. This sermon is based on a passage of Scripture found in Acts 16:19-34. We will discover in these verses that worship is much more than just singing a few songs to God, it is a lifestyle of complete devotion to the Lord. Everything we do as believers should be an act of humble worship to our God. Paul and Silas, in the most difficult situation were able to focus on God, and give Him the glory he deserves. Something amazing happened as the Roman jailer witnessed true worship and felt genuine compassion. Are we ready to worship God like he deserves?
Community Thanksgiving Service
A wonderful tradition for many years in Lithonia is for all the local Christian churches, regardless of denomination, to assemble and to have a united time of worship and praise on the Sunday evening prior to Thanksgiving. Every church that volunteers will have a specific part to participate in during this celebration. It is always very moving and meaningful to focus on the One that binds our hearts together and to give Him the joint worship He deserves. Please make room in your schedule to attend and plan on staying for some food and fellowship after the service.
